The Wonderful World Of Noveling

So I've decided to post a review of some books I've read lately...well 2 books.

1)A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. This book is absolutely amazing! It's a biography about a guy who, at 23, checked into a rehabilitation facility after over a decade of alcohol and crack addiction. He refuses to accept the program in place as the only successful way of getting clean and fights not only his addiction, but the administration. It's very graphic, and the writing is almost raw, so you feel things the way he does and everything is through his eyes as they happen. This is something I recommend for every one. Be warned, it is endorsed by Oprah, but just because you buy it/read it does not mean she owns your soul...yet (she's still working on that one). This book is a great big "FUCK YOU!" to AA.

2)Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. Sex, violence, insomnia, anarchy, and soap, what more could some one else want in a book? Yes, there was a movie made based on this book in the 1990s, but as always, the book is a million times better. For those of you who don't know the premise, guy meets guy, guys fight, guys start fight club, one guy decides he is going to destroy civilization. Sound interesting yet? It is. The twist in it are unpredictable and shocking, the characters are vivid and 3-D, and above all, you learn how to make explosives! It's my second time through it, and I'm finding more things and a greater shock value the second time around because now that I know the basic path of the plot, so to speak, I'm absorbing more of what I read, and it just keeps on getting better. I do recommend this book, especially for those who think society needs a good swift kick in the ass.
